Greetings, everyone!

Hello and welcome!

I just thought of this idea for a blog. I am going to review cookbooks, new and antique, but primarily antique, from a nourishing and traditional foods perspective. Why? Because, if you are trying to feed your family nourishing foods, antique cookbooks are often a better resource than modern ones. Many of the antique cookbooks I will review will be available for free download, & I will comment on the recipes we try from those books, as well.

In between reviews, I will post recipes that we use at our house, often refurbished to be more nourishing. These may well range from simple everyday things, such as oatmeal, to food preservation adventures.

I am a stay-at-home Mama, trying to keep my family nourished without letting the grocery budget get too out of hand. Eventually, we plan to have our own small farm in the Missouri Ozarks, but that hasn't progressed much farther, as yet, than a piece of land that we're paying on, while Himself toils in the IT sector.

I will start my reviews with a really good children's cookbook, The Mary Frances Cookbook, available online here: http://digital.lib.msu.edu/projects/cookbooks/html/books/book_64.cfm Watch for the review in a few days!
